Casanovva : Movie Review

Casanovva is directed by Roshan Andrews whose earlier films like Udhayanu Tharam, Notebook and Evidham Swargam were all big box office hits. The expectations are huge especially since the buzz among the public is exceedingly high with promos striking a chord with the audiences.

The film was promoted as a Romantic films, but it is not a film that is high on romance ,but also it has a lot of thrills, action, suspense and beautifully picturised songs.

The biggest plus point of the movie is its tight screenplay and story. The writers Roshan Andrews (story ) ,Bobby and Sanjay (screenplay and dialogues ) have put in a lot of effort to make a film of this kind possible. One can see the hard work being put by them.

The main story of the film involves the robbery that was done by a four member gang in a museum of a Church. The rest of the film is all about how love heals crime with Casannova played by Mohanlal being actively involved so that the culprits admit their crime . It will be a new experience for movie lovers in Kerala.

Director Roshan Andrews has come up with an outstanding film once again. The film is high on entertainment. The production values are excellent, you have to give credit to its producers for being so lavish. The action scenes by Alan Amin are fantastic . Music by Gopi Sunder,Alphonse and others beautifully gel with the movie.

The biggest and most striking feature of this movie is the performance by Mohanlal, the actor is once again in his top form , the expressions are beautiful and Mohanlal has done full justice to his role. The newcomers were good. Lakshmi Rai, Roma and Shreya Saran all add glamour quotient to the film. But it’s a Mohanlal film all the way. The supporting starcast have done their job very well. Lalu Alex excels in his role, so does Jagathy Sreekumar, Riyaz Khan and others. Actor Shankar makes a terrific comeback into films after a gap. He is also in top form. DOP is excellent.

Overall Casanovva is a total entertainer and value for money. Go for it. You will enjoy every bit of it.
